(1) Printmaker: Assistant Level with track to Lead Level; Full-time

(2) Shop Assistant, Part-time

Printmade Apparel (Twisp, WA) is hiring. We are looking for smart, hard working, and collaborative person to join our production team as a Printmaker. This position is craft-centric, hands on, and diverse in scope. Most importantly, it's really a lot of fun!

There are two positions available, listed in bold above.

Assistant Printmaker is a career-track role in which you will master the art of waterbased screen printing. The main duties include operating an automatic screenprinting press, dark room and stencil-making, ink mixing, cleaning and screen reclaim, and various other tasks.

Shop Assistant is a part time role (16-24 hours/wk). This role is seasonal but it is most likely we will have need through December. Duties include counting in/out orders, folding, organizing, cleaning, and light-medium lifting.

Summary of Role:

The core duty of this job is to assist in the creation of retail quality, screenprinted apparel for regional brands, businesses and events. This job includes thorough, on-the-job training spanning several months. Applicants must possess a can-do attitude, attention to detail, and a respect for process. Rather than being tossed into all areas at once, you will be trained in and master each area/task at a time.

Every day is a little different at the printshop, and your tasks will vary widely. As your knowledge and technique grow in all areas of screen printing, you will move from an assistant to a lead Printmaker (with a pay raise).

Primary Responsibilities:

Production printing: Accurate load/unload of shirts, operation of automatic machinery, careful but efficient production following order guidelines exactly.

Pre-press set up: creating stencils, caring for screens, mixing of ink, preparation of films.

Cleaning and reclaim: Maintenance and cleaning of our press, tools, materials, and space. Reclaim, ink maintenance, machine maintenance, etc.

Cross-training in other production areas

Position Requirements:

Detail oriented and ready to learn.

Would consider yourself a craftsman or a maker.

Team oriented and collaborative.

Ability to lift 10-35 pounds repeatedly. Stamina and ability to work 8+ hour shifts in a fast paced production environment.

Beneficial skills:

Previous experience in printmaking or apparel decoration.

Sewing skills.

Experience with machinery or equipment, or experience in a production role.

Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator.

Customer service experience.

Pay & Benefits:

Pay begins at $16-20/hr depending on experience. We provide a raise once your training period is complete (usually 3-6 months). There is much room for growth in this role from there as well. We reward hard work, good attitudes, flexibility, and mastery of the necessary skills.
